Did you purchase a puppy or adopt a dog? Do you need help adjusting to a new routine? Looking for new ways to interact with your dog, especially as they enter different life stages? How about equipment recommendations?

Behavioural Problems
Does your dogs have one or more behaviours that are causing you grief? Is your dog reactive, anxious or struggling in some other way? Your dog may benefit from a behavioural plan and ongoing virtual or in-person support.

Collaborative Care

Training for every dog and person
Any training, weather it be for minor behaviours or over the course of a complex behavioural plan, should feel achievable. I’m always adjusting the methods and strategies for individual dogs and people. Everyone deserves to find training accessible, and through tailored training and ongoing support, anyone can train a dog to do anything!
I’m a big advocate for pain recognition in dogs. Pain can be the cause of a wide range of behavioural concerns in dogs. Being able to note these abnormal behaviours is a part of my job, and is also unfortunately something I’m recording fairly often. Dogs can often mask signs of pain during vet visits, so the observations and data I collect can often greatly help a veterinarian to diagnose and treat potential issues. It is very important that any health issues are addressed prior to training commencing, to ensure successful training.
I’m happy to help with a wide variety of scenarios, from a new puppy to an older dog with multiple behavioural problems. I’m experienced with a range of dog breeds and ages.

Commonly asked Questions
Are there any travel fees?
It depends on the location and time of your consult
Most locations within Hornsby Shire, City of Parramatta, Blacktown City Council, Hills Council and City of Ryde do not incur travel fees. If you are outside these areas (or in a rural area of those councils), then I’m happy to work with you to find a time that will incur the lowest of those travel fees. Usually, this would be a time that I’m already in the area for another consult. Alternatively, I might refer you to a more local trainer with reduced travel fees.
Do you offer board and train services?
No, I do not.
There is significant research that supports the idea that training is most effective when completed in the home with the owner present and participating. The kennel environment is also quite stressful for the majority of dogs (Rooney et al 2007), as a result, any stays in a kennel environment should be avoided when possible.
Does training take place face to face or virtually?
It depends!
Each dog is an individual and their behavioural needs are unique. Dogs who are human reactive, for example, are generally quite stressed out when I enter your home. Dogs like this are generally better suited for online consults, at least initially. For some dogs, their training would be most productive if it occurs in locations away from home, such as a local park. However for most dogs, the choice is yours!
Are there discounts available for rescue organisations and foster carers?
Yes, there are substantial discounts for both rescue organisations and their foster carers.
As someone who both owns and has worked with dogs in foster care and post-adoption, I understand the importance of good behavioural support. I’m proud to support the work of rescue organisations across Sydney with heavily discounted services.
Can you cater to those with a disability?
Absolutely!
Training should be accessible for everyone, including those with a disability. I’ve had experience catering to people with a wide range of abilities, and I’m committed to recieving ongoing education in how to continuously improve in this area.
You will never be asked to list your disability or medical history in any way. However, if you would like to share with me any additional needs you have, I’ll always strive to meet them.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes, financial assistance is available
I’m committed to ensuring dog training is accessible to all. I’m always happy to arrange interest-free payment plans for my services. I’m also happy to call around and refer you to other professionals who are able to offer discounts or payment plans.
